Lets Start with the End

So after having seen Sigur Rós in concert a couple times, I realized that the song “Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása” or “Good Weather for Airstrikes” from the album ágætis byrjun would be a perfect melancholy song to have playing in the background of a video reel with the highlights of my life, during my funeral services or a eulogy or whatever.
Of course the video would never exist because these events of my life havnt ever been filmed, and I dont think I would want any re-enactments done for such a work. The film would of course be fuzzed with white and dreamy, with some scenes in slow-motion and
From the loves to the sorrows, this song, especially when performed live, has made me feel reflective on my life. It even ends with more sounds than when it starts, which makes me think that I’d go out with a bang. The vocals dont come in for a good while, so should the words (in Icelandic) not be appropriate, the video could be shortened or the beginning looped.
I dont really want to analyze this further, but a lot of the music from Sigur Rós definately has an emotional intensity that transcends any sort of rock music I have listened to in the past.
As for the video, I didnt see it coming, I’ll let you watch it, but knowing what I do about the band, I should have thought that.

So this is my music blog. and maybe some friends will be invited.
